Welcome to the new home of Aquila Motorsport. We hope that it will be a useful resource to fans, sponsors and anyone interested in the sport of drag racing. Aquila Motorsport would like to thank James Hands of JH Design for designing our new hero cards and the graphics for our new website. James is only 15 and currently studying for his GCSE's and wants to go on to study media at college. Judging by his recent work were sure he will do just fine!

If you are a keen reader of Eurodragster.com then you probably realise that we are currently working on a new car, it is not just any old car though but a motorcycle engined Funny Car. There are currently no motorcycle engined dragsters in the United Kingdom, infact the last one to race was Mr Exile back in the 1980's before it was outlawed, probably because it was too quick for all the muscle cars! We want to try and beat their record of 8.97 seconds over the standing quarter, before going on to try and take the World Record of 8.59 seconds, and ultimately become the World's first 7 second motorcycle engined car.

Aquila Motorsport attended the 2008 Santa Pod Stunt Night on the 15th February where we performed demonstration runs for the crowds along with several other dragsters. We had a great time, especially since it was our first time racing at night, and it was a massive eye opener doing over 100mph through the finish line and being plunged into complete darkness! The Stunt Night was a huge success with thousands of people flocking to a very cold Santa Pod and its something we would love to do again. The day after we had our first test session of the year which started out well with a couple of low 13 second runs. Then on the fourth run i got really out of shape off the startline and missed a gear, it would turn out to be a reoccuring problem for the next few runs, and on inspection there was a bent selector fork in the gearbox.

Aquila Motorsport is proud to welcome on board Ian Turboville as our official clothing sponsor, Ian will produce all team clothing for the 2008 season. I have known Ian since we first competed in the F1 In Schools competition back when i was 17, and we have become good friends ever since. Ian's dedication to the sport of drag racing and his sportsman like conduct is second to none, he is a credit to European drag racing and we wish him the best of luck with his own Supertwin Harley this year.
